Palmetto Luna Arts Announces Inaugural Latina Emerging Artist Award
When artist Shakira Bautista Olivera was excluded from state grant funding despite a panel's recommendation, we chose to turn rejection into action. Palmetto Luna Arts is proud to name Shakira the inaugural recipient of our Latina Emerging Artist Award, backing her with a 2027 solo exhibition, program opportunities, and fundraising support to replace her lost grant.
